Venue: SRM University Campus, Kattankulathur 

Reception: Participating teams may please intimate to the Organising Secretary at SRM University campus, Kattankulathur- 603203, their date, mode and time of arrival well in advance. The University is located in the suburban of Chennai, midway between Tambaram and Chengalpattu. Several passenger and city buses shuttle between Chennai and Chengalpattu. Electric trains fiom Chennai to Chengalpattu, stop at Potheri railway station in front of which the University is located on the GST Road. Teams reaching Central Railway stations of Chennai can board by electric trains at park station (just in front of the central railway station) and get down at potheri. Teams coming via Trichirapalli to Chennai can get down at Chengalpattu (CGL) and board in an electric traln to Potheri (l5km). Get train ticket from your place to Tambaram (TBM)

Accommodation: The teams shall be provided unfurnished accommodation in the university hostels 24 hours prior to the commencement of the matches and teams have to vacate the accommodation soon after their last match. Teams should bring their beddings and own lock and key. Each team will have to pay a caution deposit of Rs. 1,000/- which shall be refunded at the time of departure of the team, after adjusting the cost of damages, if any.

Managers Meeting: The meeting of all the managers of participating teams will be held on 08-01-2016 at 6:00.p.m at the Directorate of Sports (Near Dental Ground) of the university campus at Kattankulathur. The managers should hand over four copies of the duly certified eligibility performa along with the player's identity cards to the organizing secretary in the meeting.

Additional Information's/Instructions:

  • The managers of the teams should pay Rs.700/- per match as officiating charges to the organizing secretary before the commencement of their match.
  • The ball provided by the organizer should alone be used the cost is Rs.450/- per cane.
  • The tournaments will be played as per the latest AITA rules, & AIU modified rule.
  • The organizing secretary reserves the right to make changes in the program and venue, if necessary, which shall be final and binding on the participant teams
  • The teams should report in the grounds at least thirty minutes prior to the commencement of their matches.
  • All the teams should participate in the inaugural ceremony with their University flags on 09th January 2016 at 7.00 a.m. at the SRM University, Kattankulathur Campus
  • The team should make their own arrangement for boarding (Number of Canteens are available inside the campus both Veg / Non- Veg food)
  • Food will also be served in the hostel on payment by request

Dr. Deepak Ravikumar, an alumni of SRM University, is currently working as the Senior Manager – Technology Compliance, at Solidia Technologies, Piscataway (USA). He pursued his Doctoral degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University, New York. He served as a Research Scientist for developing concrete applications with alternative and sustainable binders. Dr. Deepak has also worked as a research associate at Arizona State University, where his notable experiences include working in a state-of-the-art cement research laboratory to gain hands on experience in advance binder material characterization and testing of concretes. He has 6 patents under his name including Pervious composite materials, methods of production, Pavers and block composite materials and methods, and Aerated composite materials, methods of production and uses.

SRM University to Host Second HNU-SRM Linton Global Leadership Program

South Korea’s Hannam University and SRM University are fast tracking their ongoing partnershipwith the launch of the second HNU-SRM Linton Global Leadership Program in January 2016.
On 11 January, 24 students from the Linton School of Global Business atHannam University will arrive in SRM University for a week intensive leadership development programme. The first was in January, 2015 for 4 weeks with 27students studying Indian culture, business entrepreneurship and computing, and how these have combined to give India its unique and distinct business environment.
The architect of the programme is Professor Su Hyeon Namn, Dean, Linton School of Global Business, Hannam University, who designed this innovative partnership along with Professor Jayshree Suresh, Dean, School of Management, SRM University. Prof Su Hyeon Namnstrongly believes that the two countries should strengthen the relationship further. “ SRM University and Hannam University have much in common, being committed to quality education and preparing competent leaders in an ever changing world.”, said Prof Namn , while welcoming the growing partnership between the two institutions.
The HNU-SRM Linton Global Leadership Program is structured around language training and business studies. There are 5 components to the programme:

  • Indian IT Business Case Study Analysis
  • IT Business Infrastructure and Business Models
  • Basics of Hindi
  • Group Project Development, Review and Discussion
  • IT Industry Visits

Welcoming another group of 9 students from Hannam University in January 2016, to exchange ideas on fashion trends between South Korea and India, led by Prof. Philip Rose,Head of Global Business, the VC of SRM University Prof.  Bagchi paid tributes to the high quality of higher education in South Korea. Expressing satisfaction at the growing ties between the two institutions, Prof Bagchi said that internationalisation is a powerful vehicle to strengthen key dimensions of education: teaching, learning and research.

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored project entitled “Transition metal dichalcogenide (MX2: M = Mo, W, V and X = S, Se) and carbon nanocomposites as an effective electrode material for Lithium-ion batteries”.

Eligibility: M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Material Science/ Nanoscience and Technology or equivalent or, M. Tech. in Materials Science/Nanotechnology/Engineering chemistry or equivalent with minimum of 60% marks. NET/GATE qualified candidate will be preferred.

Fellowship: For Post Graduate Degree in Basic sciences with CSIR-NET, GATE, JEST qualification or GATE qualified Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course: Rs 25,000 + Admissible HRA. For Others: Rs. 16,000 + Admissible HRA.

Tenure of the fellowship:  3 Years

Registration for Ph.D. : Selected candidates should register for full time Ph.D. program at SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.

SRM Research Institute, SRM University (Kattankulathur Campus) invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Science and Engineering Research Board  (SERB) sponsored project entitled “Novel Stimuli-responsive Poly(2-oxazoline)s/Tannic Acid Multilayer Thin Films and Capsules for Drug Delivery Applications”.

Eligibility: First class M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Nanotechnology/Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in physical/materials chemistry with knowledge in colloid chemistry, Layer-by-Layer assembly and in-vitro cell line experiments. GATE/CSIR/NET qualified candidates are preferable.

Fellowship: 20,000 per month + 20% HRA

Project Duration: 3 Years

Travel Allowance: II Class sleeper return train fare for interview

Registration for Ph.D.: Selected candidate should register for full time Ph.D. program at SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.
