Mumbai is known for its distinctive street food and people from all walks of life eat at roadside stalls almost round the clock. Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on a research project “Comparative Resistance Study to Identify Molecular Markers for the Control of Dusky cotton Bug Oxycarenus laetus Kirby (Hemiptera: Lygaeidae) across Habitats using Mitochondrial DNA and Transcriptomics approaches“ funded by DST-SERB YSS, Govt., of India.

Eligibility: First class in M. Tech. / M. Sc., Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Computational Biology. Knowledge in Next Generation Sequencing Technologies such as Transcriptome / Exome / Genome analysis is preferable. Knowledge in Linux, Perl, Python/PHP and HTML is must. Expertise in Molecular Biology techniques will be preferred.

Stipend: Rs. 20, 000 per month (fixed)*. CSIR – NET is preferred.

Registration for Ph.D.: Selected candidate should register for full time Ph.D. program at SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.
