As much as SRMIST devotes its time creating professionals in multiple disciplines, it has yet again proved itself to being a nurturing hub for future sports stars. A testimonial to this is the recent number of students who had participated in sports competitions in international events Ms. Varshini, a 2nd year B.Tech student had bagged the gold in the Commonwealth chess championship while Jojula Anish Chandra a first year B.Tech capured the bronze title in the 7th Asian Schools Badminton Championship. A fact worthy of notice is that both the above students pursue B.Tech CSE in Vadapalani nd KTR campuses respectively

The other students had taken part in international events in Manama, Bahrain and Johannesburg, South Africa respectively. We felicitate all the students for taking the name of SRMIST to international circles through their skills and talent and will ensure that SRMIST will be a hub to many such future sports stars

Over 40 SRM IST students have just returned after a global internship programme on Big Data Analytics using Artificial Neural Networks at Singapore.
Organised by Corporate Gurukal, the programme certification was provided by Strategic Technology Management Institute @ National University of Singapore and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Education
Daily quizzes, assignments and project presentations with Letter of Evaluation (LOE) from the professors of NUS, were key features of the programme.
“We are happy that our students make use of such opportunities to sharpen their skills, knowledge and competencies in cutting edge areas in digital science. Such internships act as a bridge for students to leverage the exciting career opportunities in rapidly emerging technologies”, said Professor Muthamizhchelvan, Director, Engineering and Technology, SRM IST.

els-cooVice Chancellor of SRM IST, Professor Sandeep Sancheti, and Chief Operating Officer ELS Educational Services, Inc. Mr Reiji Terasaka reaffirmed the growing relationship between the two industry leaders, at a recent meeting at Chennai.

“We thank ELS for setting up its only dedicated education pathway centre in India in the university sector, at SRM IST campus. We have identified a number of new initiatives in widening of student diversity and improving English language communication skills, which will define the future of our relationship”, said Prof Sancheti, on the occasion.

ELS is globally recognised for its English language services that provide opportunities for students to access higher education in English speaking countries. This is done through their innovative pathway model, where students come to study for up to 10 months depending on their language proficiency, gain fluency in the language, and transfer to an institution of higher learning.
