We welcome you to a plastic-free future at SRM University and for this to be true, we need your help. Plastics have pervaded into our lives so much that it may take a while to make our surroundings a plastic-free zone. Plastic pollution involves the accumulation of plastic products in the environment that adversely affects animals, humans, lands, waterways and oceans. Moreover, they take several hundred years to degrade. A shift in our approach and fine adjustments in our lifestyle can make our environment a cleaner and better place, not just for us but also for the future generations.
Our Vice Chancellor has raised an alarm urging us to eradicate plastic usage at least within our campus. Hence I request you to avoid using plastic- cups, cards, bottles, bags in our campus.
As a start up, in case anyone is found carrying polythene bags to our campus, they will be stopped and supplied with paper bags at the University Arch Gate. This signifies that the polythene bags are totally banned in our campus.
Let us not laminate our earth!!!
