Research Department:

Dr Rohit Dhir is a high energy physics-phenomenologist who works in Hadronic Physics. He has investigated different aspects of hadronic physics like their decays and properties such as wave-functions, masses, magnetic moments etc. Dr. Dhir joined SRM University in September, 2016. He did his higher studies M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. from Punjabi University, Patiala. He was motivated to pursue his carrier in Nuclear and Particle Physics during his early research in M.Phil. (2004), when he studied Pion-nucleon differential cross-sections at GeV energies using Regge Pole Theory. Later, he worked on properties and decays of heavy flavor s-wave hadrons to obtain his Ph.D. in 2010. After his Ph.D., he started to explore ¬p-wave emitting decays of heavy flavor mesons and baryons. He was awarded DS Kothari Post-doctoral Fellowship by UGC in March, 2011 to continue his research interests on rare weak decays of Charmonium and Bottomonium at GGSIP University, Delhi. In 2012, Dr. Rohit Dhir was awarded BRAIN KOREA-21 fellowship at Institute of Physics and Applied Physics, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. He continued his research at Yonsei University until Oct, 2015. During this tenure he studied Bc meson decays to p-wave mesons, CP violation B decays, Magnetic Moments and Decays of Heavy Baryons. In Nov. 2015, Dr. Dhir joined as Assistant Professor Research at Okayama University, Japan. He collaborated with experimental group to study neutrino nuclear interactions with 16O and 12C. These processes are relevant for the detection of neutrinos from core-collapse supernovae at Super-Kamiokande (Japan).
