Description about the team
Efficycle is a human-electric hybrid vehicle operated by two persons which is used for day to day mobile needs and adventure transport. It has both mechanical pedal through chain drive and electric power transmission with a battery capacity of 48 volts and 35Ampere hour.
Efficient 8 is a team from Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur which have been initiated by students in academic year 2016-17. The team consists of students from Mechanical, Electrical and automobile engineering.
The built of the vehicle have started with making prototype with PVC pipes and CAD model is created using Solid work. Stress strain analysis has done for critical components to ensure the safety of the vehicle. The vehicle is fabricated in centralized fabrication yard which is located in our campus. Cutting, welding, finishing and assembly have been carried by the team members.
Achievements and awards
- The team has been participated in Cross-Trike 2017, Season 1, held at NATRAX, INDORE- Dec-2017 and ranked 11th position out of 32 teams.
