“World Tourism Day” is considered as the big landmark for the global tourism as it aims to make the people aware about the significant role of the tourism inside the international community as well as to exhibit how the social, economic, cultural, political values are affected by it globally.
By celebrating “World Tourism Day” with special events & festivities, we are aiming to promote Tourism globally. We have been celebrating World Tourism Day every year in a meaningful way, this year it was initiated by Tree Planting Ceremony in campus followed by Seminar on Tourism and Digital Transformation” in T.P. Ganesan Auditorium on 27th September 2018, with the presence of esteemed guests like Shri Ravi Kant.,IFS chairman of Tamilnadu Forest Plantation Corporation Ltd who gave an extraordinary presentation on the excellent natural resources that the state Tamilnadu has a credit and how much it is important to preserve our animals and wildlife creatures.
Mr. Indranil Ray, the General Manager of The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway Chennai, delivered his address on the digital transformation that the Tourism Industry is undergoing with the development of various mobile applications and so on.
Ms. Manpreet Kaur Sandhu, the Managing Director of the Aviation Academy shared her own experiences for success to all the students who were present there.
The students who won in the poster designing contest, photography contest and the paper presentation contest were awarded by the dignitaries and the Director of SRM IHM.
Students from IHM Bengaluru, Valluvar College Karur, SRM IHM Ekkaduthaangal participated in the competitions and they also received the prizes.
A Presentation on the detailed activities carried by SRM Institute of Hotel Management was presented to the dignitaries.
Paper on ‘ Tourism and Digital Transformation’ was presented by our students depicting the role of digitalization in promoting tourism specifically about Artificial Intelligence and Virtual assistant.
The event was concluded with fabulous Cultural Dance which visualized the different cultures of our Country.
